Gambling is supposed to be fun. The very name now in use,
"gaming," serves to butress that. There is excitement, entertainment, and the
great feeling when you win. And for most people, gambling is just that, fun.
However, there is a point when gambling becomes a disease, when
it consumes the lives of certain people to the point that it harms themselves, their
families, and their friends. Just as it is possible to abuse alcohol, you can abuse
gambling. The gambling industry would be remiss if it didn't address this problem in
order to help gambling addicts. These people may be in the vast minority, but they
do need help.
Here are some links to site which offer help for those people
who have become or are becoming "problem gamblers."
